Cardiovascular Sonography

Prepare for a career in Cardiovascular Sonography

Whether you’re already in the field or looking to transition into healthcare, ACMC’s Cardiovascular Sonography training program prepares you for an exciting career in Cardiovascular Sonography.

At ACMC’s Cardiovascular Sonography School, you will spend the first six months of your sonography training developing a foundation in Cardiovascular Sonography before transitioning into the hands-on component of the program.

Named one of the fastest growing careers by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, there has never been a better time to explore echocardiography schools.

Throughout your hands-on experience, you will “learn by doing” – both by working with real sonography equipment in one of our labs and by working alongside professional diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography professionals in the field.

Whether you’re studying to earn your Associate’s or Bachelor of Science degree, your sonography training will include:

  • Anatomy & Physiology
  • Cardiovascular Physiology
  • Factors that Affect Blood Flow
  • Physical Characteristics of Sound
  • Advanced & Emergency Screening Techniques
  • Congenital Anomalies
  • Vascular Ultrasound Assessment

Our Cardiovascular Sonography training program also features a clinical externship where you will gain invaluable real-world experience and learn from seasoned Sonographers.

In ACMC’s Cardiovascular Sonography training program, you will also learn about the history of ultrasound, as well as medical terminology, medical ethics, and other important information to help you in your career. You will also learn how to monitor physically active patients to evaluate heart function.

We invite you to come visit one of our campuses to speak with instructors, faculty, and students – or even attend a lab and use real ultrasound equipment. Contact us today to learn more.

Be ready in 18-20 months

ACMC offers Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degree programs ranging from 18 to 20 months, depending on your background and program selection. Our comprehensive training consists of both convenient online learning and valuable hands-on laboratory experience.

You will learn how to prepare patients for exams, communicate effectively, and – of course – use ultrasound to examine heart chambers and provide preliminary diagnoses.

This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) encourages graduates from CAAHEP-accredited institutions to take the ARDMS credentialing examination.
