Get to Know the Faculty of the Month: Malcolm Bartlett

Faculty of the monthThis instructor was recognized for his contributions in the classroom

We like to provide ways for you to get to know our faculty here at the American College for Medical Careers. A recent faculty of the month winner was Malcolm Bartlett, who started with ACMC in January 2017 and teaches the online Algebra class MTH210.

Check out this interview with him to learn some things about him that you might not have known:

1.  What do you like about working at ACMC?

The support I get from the administration and from management is fabulous.

2. Where were you born?

I was born in Cortland, New York

3.  Where did you go to school?

I attended the State University of New York at Cortland.

4. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be an architect.

5. What word would you use to describe yourself?

“Encouraging.”

6. What is your favorite restaurant?

The Metro Diner.

7. If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

I’d go to England, but I'd also like to visit my grandchildren more often.

8. What is your perfect Sunday?

I prefer relaxing after church service, and maybe tutoring someone in the afternoon and/or evening.

9. Do you have a code you try to live by?

Stay faithful without being hypocritical.

10. What is your favorite meal to make at home?

I'm not much of a cook, but I can make chili.

11. What is your favorite movie you saw in the theater?

The Sound of Music. I'm old-school. I don't care for all the violence in today's movies and programs.

12. What’s your secret talent that nobody knows about?

I try to garden, even in Florida where it is particularly difficult—poor, sandy soil, and blazing hot sun.

13. What is your favorite thing about your career at ACMC?

ACMC even lets me teach new students—to encourage them, which can help in aiding student retention, I hope.

The next time you see Malcolm around campus, be sure to congratulate him on his recognition as faculty of the month. And tell him something about yourself, so he can get to know you as well!
